Welcome to my first post! I thought I might update you on why I am doing this project!

I am currently a educatee at Western Kentucky University! This semester I am taking an English language 300 class taught by Dr. Elliot. For our semester project  we were told to option a subject in our field of study and basically due an in-depth study of something that nosotros are interested in. If I am beingness honest, when I first heard about this project I literally started dreading it. I accept washed long extended research papers before and have hated them. I don't have much confidence in my formal writing skills and about of the fourth dimension the topics we are told to enquiry for an English or history classes do not interest me at all (y'all can just imagine how much I dread these types of assignments.) Fortunately, Dr. Elliot gave us more freedom on this project.

When I presented him with my trouble of not wanting to write an entire research newspaper, he asked me what I liked to do and how could I make that a way I presented my project. As I sat there and though well-nigh it, I thought, "I love talking." I know, that probably doesn't come to a surprise to you if y'all know me at all. I then preceded to tell him that I participated in speech competitions in high schoolhouse and I would beloved if I somehow could do something like that for my project. He rapidly offered up the idea that I could record a podcast on the topic for my study area.

Which is what brings us to right at present. I have decided to explore the world of medical discoveries/projects and podcasts. The side by side few posts volition exist my progress up to my final podcast. They volition include my study plans and the things that I struggled with and succeeded with along the way.  I promise y'all enjoy learning with me along the way, it should exist a fun, but interesting journey. Thanks for visiting, I hope y'all follow the rest of my progress.

Every bit our population grows at an abundant rate then does our demand for access to blood. Scientists, for years, have been studying up on how we tin create a sustainable source for claret transfusions. A team in Britain has had a break through in their study and CNN reported on it. Hither is my podcast reviewing the data and explaining why this is so important for our future. Here is the link for the article:

Is it possible to share a kidney with a pig? In this podcast I talk virtually the enquiry that is being done in Xenotransplantation and how it could bear on the upwards and coming medical field. Hope yous savor.

    3. Google deep search
  • Narrow downward my studies
    1. Stalk cell treatment
    2. Blood transfusions
    3. Genetic enquiry
    4. robotic limbs research
  • Proceed to await more than into podcasts
    1. Run across how they are structured: enquiry the things that I need to study upwardly to start podcasts
    2. Take notes on what I like and don't like nearly the podcasts I listen to
    3. Start experimenting (didn't exercise this last week)
    4. 5 episodes
      1. start to make outlines for each one if you lot have fourth dimension

Reflection:

I take started to listen to a few podcasts to try and learn how I want my intros and catastrophe to get. I too started to play around with wordpress a little to start and figure out how I can use it. I think I use that every bit my hosting site or at to the lowest degree use it to mail service the link to the podcast. I demand to start looking at what software I should utilize for the creation of the podcasts. I demand the software to be gratis and easy to utilize, and then I volition read some reviews and peradventure kickoff messing around with it. I continued to look upwards research. I am having a difficult time with finding information (or at least big amounts of inquiry) since they are such new topics. I am not the best at using the WKU database, but I guess skill comes with experience so I will practice more and hopefully become amend at doing more narrow searches. Though I got a little behind this week, I am not besides worried.
